i hope my last questions, speed and trading

Hi

whilst playing the game i have yet another few questions

Basically I was wondering first with speed, do all ships go at the same speed? because from what i have seen they all say 79 i think it is, but i could swear sometimes it feels you are going faster in diffrent ships, but basically i would like to know,

and the second one is with trading, apart from comodities wich obviously change from station to station, with ships and ship parts (weapons e.t.c.) is there only two prices that are the same at all stations, a buy price from the station, and a sell price giving to the station, and then with the sell price, does it just go down in value when you buy it or does it get lower over time?

last is with weapons, the refire rate, this probably sounds really stupid, but what is better? a higher or a lower number, i thought that a lower number is better as it means time between shots, but i could swear that a weapon that has 8, fires more than a weapon has 4? am i just going mental?

i hope you udnertand what i am saying!

Top speeds are the same for all the ships but acceleration is different (this includes turning).

Only the price of commodities varies between bases, the prices for ships/equipment are the same everywhere. Different kinds of equipment can have different ratios between buy price and sell price but the sell price is fixed (does not change over time).

The refire rate of a weapon is less important than how much damage it does (multiply damage per shot with refire rate to get damage per second for comparing weapon damage), what the projectile speed is (faster projectiles make it easier to hit a target) and how energy-efficient it is. All other things being equal, a weapon with a high refire rate tends to give better results than one with a low refire rate - it is better for 'flak' shooting (e.g. against missiles, torpedos) and it delivers the damage in a higher number of smaller packets. The latter can have a noticable effect sometimes since a collapsing shield can absorb arbitrarily large amounts of energy.

All ships supposedly go at the same top speed... which always makes me wonder when some NPC ship goes whizzing past me.
