This looks nice, me want!

hey, I was looking at some screenshots and I was wondering how you get those neat looking cockpits like the one in this picture:

This may have been an early concept for the cockpit and HUD.

I find this a little bit confusing and crouded. Don't forget: Looking outside is not optional, it's crucial!

Whats that mean? You mean we (I) have to look.

That radar screen is a dead give away of the ELITE origins.

p.s. Hmmm ... are the Nephalim the Don Kavash?

I want that radar screen!!!!

The existing one sucks arse big time.

In fact, i dont think i have seen any game with a radar as good as the old Elite style.

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

I liked the Freespace & Freespace 2 HUD configurations, very nice. I also like the radar screen in that pic.

I totally agree with anchronox. The FS radars and entire hud lay out were awesome. And the fact that you could turn off the parts you didn't use added an extra bonus. This hud looks good though...

If it wasn't for the inky blackness of the night you wouldn't appreciate the brilliance of the stars...

ive always wondered about the freelancer hud it just seemed to me to be incomplete ,compared to other games ive played starlancer etc
maybe a radar type display is what was nagging at the back of my mind
freespace 2 imo has the best display ive seen

[steel: FreeSpace 2 is quite possibly the best game I've ever played PERIOD.
I cannot think of a single flaw with it, aside from the fact that it ended.
Teh most annoying thing is that Voilition, inc. are more than willing to right FS3 (Cos of the ending of FS2 being what it s and all) but INterplay (Damn them all the way to hell) don't want to publish it, and yet won't sell the publishing rights. Bastards, and I say that with feeling.

I liked the radar from the X-wing Series. The front and rear screens really helped. Especially when you wanted to put distance between you and an enemy.

I agree with lutz on FS2, and I agree that they should either sell it or make a kick*** game with the license... or atleast make an addon...

But a better add on than the Silent Threat add on for FS1, that sucked big time.
FS2 though... I still get shivers thnking about that game.
Of course the ultimate would be a game that played like FS2 (WIth its background, weapons, ships, etc) had FL graphics, Elites trading system and Privateer (And FL Rebalances) missions. Opened FreeSpace...

I agree with jedierrant, the X-Wing/Tie Fighter radar screens were great, infact those are probably my favourite space flight sims

I just got finished playing FS2, it is a kick-@$$ game, the FS2 cockpit converted into freelancer would be cool, not to cluttered, but just enough info, while you can still clearly see what your aiming for!
