Deal of a Lifetime & Trent''s Real Ship

Now I did a search, and I can't seem to find anything, so I might as well ask and be led to an older thread about this...

Ever wonder what Trent's deal of a lifetime is? Well it had to do with whats-his-face who is in the opening scene on the hospital bed (can't say anymore, would be a spoiler) and he left Leeds to go to Freeport 7 to have this deal. (Personally I think he was gonna give out free bl**jobs for all the exhausted fighter piolets resting at the station, but thats just my thought. lol)

Also, unless this has also been covered, I've always wondered what Trent's orginal ship that was destroyed in Freeport 7 was. Anyone see any rumors that might give an idea?

And again, I tried the search, no luck, so if this has been covered, just give me a link and refrain from angry yells and racial slurs against Vulcans : ~ )

The deal involved Trent running Boron with a cargo captain through the border worlds. The Captain decided to steal the load, and Trent got in on it. The end result was that Trent had about a million credits' worth of Boron. He had just sold the load when FP7 got blown to bits.

*edit* Trent's pre-FL adventures are covered in his Neural Net Log, which is accessible in-game by pressing F5. I don't believe it says anything about his ship, though.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

In 60 years, I wanna be one of those cranky guys sitting on his porch with a shotgun, yelling at the fools to get off my lawn...

When he leaves the bar at Manhattan to hunt for Ashcroft (is this a spoiler?) he talks to the "Patient":

Trent: *name* is it really you bla bla bla...

some more bla bla bla...

other dude: What do you think hapened at FP7?

Trent: It blew up, together with my Oreship (there you have it) and my milion credits, wich btw you still owe me!

bla bla bla Etc, etc, etc

Don't know what an Oreship really is, haven't found it in Sirius yet.
Maybe some armored transport.

actually im pretty sure he didnt say ore ship, sounded liek ore shipment to me. I think what happened was trent was escorting the freighter captain who wanted to sell the load of boron for profit for himself (not the company), trent payed everything he had for for this cargo, then they dropped the cargo off at fp7 for storage, then trent found "patient" to sell it to. My guess would be that trent flew a bretonia ship, probably a cavalier.

I'll listen more carefully next time I start a new game (maybe tomorrow)
then I'll come back to it.

Maybe anyone there has got a calculator. You could check how much Boron you would have to sell to probably a high bidder, to make a million credits. ( It WAS "the deal of a lifetime" If you would have to sell way more than a humpback or a Dromedary can carry, Trent was probably flying a large cargo ship. Maybe one of those ships that don't seem to be having shields, and that crack open so nicely when you fire a Firestalker Misslile.

Oh, I didn't notice about the deal thing... And that would kinda suck wouldn't it? Having the supposed Indiana Jones like Edison Trent start off with a big cargo ship like a feeble merchant. : ~ (

I don't remember for sure, but Trent said something about getting paid "when the cargo was delivered". That could mean either he was flying the freighter bringing it to Freeport or that he was providing escort. I took it to mean he was delivering it himself. Something was obviously suspicious anyway. Just what kind of cargo is worth a whole one million creds? Hardly sounds like anything legitimate. But then Trent does seem a bit thick at times and probably can't count that high anyway. (I doubt if he was any hot shot fighter pilot, since he only had 500 credits to his name after he lost his ship. And look at how quickly you can make money in the game missions.)

Trent couldnt have owned the shipment in any of the pilotable ships.

In order to make a million creds in a dromedary, you would have to have a resale value of 3636.36 per unit.

More than likely was an escort.

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

Probably a ship from Richard Winston Tobias's shop on Leeds, thus not likely to be anything very exciting ...

Just read Trent's log file

Post Mon Jul 28, 2003 6:44 am

His log tells nothing about his old ship...

yeah but it says he had a ton (measurement) of Boron that he was selling

I AM BIG! I AM STRONG!I AM........... WWWWIIIIILLLLDDDD!!!!!!!

Post Tue Jul 29, 2003 8:23 pm

no one seems to have noticed that FP7 was destroyed so therfor the price of boron could have been massive there (large nucleur reactor???) and thats why it was 1,000,000 creds worth that or... has anyone seen that rumour i think its on houston about the man who had a liberty rouge crash in his garden and got 1,000,000 credits worth of diamonds (how does that work diamonds selling price is rubbish -for want a censor relaxation- and libery rouges ships dont have a big cargo hold
