yet another noob question from me - map

Hi

I was playing and I was wondering why is it that sometimes when i go through a jumphole, i can see the jumphole on the map, but when i come out of the jumphole i can not see it on the map, are they or just some only one way?

and also is there anyway to turn map detail up or something as I sometimes miss stuff on the mini map because i forget that sometimes you need to zoom in to see some of the things

No one way jump holes that I know of. Now when you go through a jump hole from one system, remember that it's not going to have the same name on the other side. Say you go from Dresden to Frankfurt. On the Dresden side, it says Frankfurt jump hole. On the Frankfurt side, it says Dresden jump hole. But the jump hole should be there. (I think there are 1 or 2 jump holes which simply don't ever show up on the map, even after you've used them. But they are in remote areas you probably won't get until after the game missions are over.)

To see details better, move the cursor over a spot on the map and click the magnifying glass. That should zoom in on it. But jump holes, wrecks, even stations won't show up on a map until you have been in visual range of them at least once.

Maybe you can't see the jump holes because you haven't zoomed in on them.

During the sp campaign, I know there are jumpholes wich only show up one way.

Cambridge >> Leeds, for example, only shows up in Cambridge once the story takes you through and theres now jumphole back.
But it disappears after you completed the campaign.

Same for the famous in-system-jumphole.

That is what I was talking about, leeds - cambridge? i think when i go thorugh it on the mission i cant see the jump hole back

The jumphole is still there but you get an 'Access denied' message when you try to use it.

I think the reason that it disppears is because it's useless now. May still be there in space, but why put something on a map that you can't use?
That's why the really advanced maps show all the ships bar the Titan. j/k, Couldn't resist.

Anyone notice that there are two Tohuko jumpholes, one in Chukogu and one in Hokkiado.

from the first time i saw it in my Nav Map until now..
it says Ny jumphole..

ps: just use it in mission to destroy satellite using stiletto and sunslayer..
hehehe... modding time...

The insystem one still shows, but the other one doesn't, at least not on my map.
btw, the ny>ny jumpy is also oneway

there are a couple of jumphole that i have found that dont have labels on one side or the other. i just put it down to something that was overlooked in the last minute rush to get the game out the door

one that i can think of is the one from omicron theta to omicron alpha. its tag isnt shown on the map, but the graphic for it is, if you know where to look. great way to race someone from crete to malta

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.
