Just got freelancer and i have a few noob questions

Hi

I just bought freelancer, and I have just a few quick questions, I see that when you select a comodoty, it tells you the prices of everywhere that you have visited, and I simply want to know do I have to dock with every single place to get them in the list or do you just need to of gone near them?

The other question is about ships, can you have more than one ship? or do you make a loss in a transaction, because I want to know if i find a good trade route and i wanted a freighter, would i loose out on the swap, or can i just do a few runs to get some cash then trade back and everything is the same, or should i just use the cargo space in my fighter?

Thanks

Unfortunately, you have to dock - a quick flyby is not sufficient.

Even more unfortunately, you cannot own more than one ship at any one time. Ships do not lose as much value as equipment like guns but it is a nuisance nonetheless. Especially for traders it would be nice if you could unstrap your Patriot from the back of your freighter and do a quick recon run, or at least drive to the base where you parked your fighter and use that ship for exploration.

@ Sherlog: That would be awesome...

If you click on a station you haven't visited, it will not show you much information. Got to land. But some things you can figure out by common sense, e.g. that a shipyard wants panels for building ships.

Don't race to do the story missions too quickly. Juni will wait for you. Roamd around and explore all you want. Good way to make money to buy better ships for the missions!

You can also buy information on other locations at various bars, whether or not someone appears offering info or not seems to be fairly random. Just watch out for people offering info on places you've already been!

one thing to bear in mind, particularly when changing from a fighter to a freighter is will it mount your existing guns
ie the level of the guns
the other is you also need to get turrets cause at most you will have only 1 on a fighter

Flying Rhino is a lot of fun It's possible to fly almost unharmed all the way from Cambridge to Honshu and earn lots of money if you'll make a good use of thrusters and cruise engines combined with quick docking maneuvers. Running away is not always cowardice - sometimes it's a common sense

Of all the freighters I think the Rhino looks the best. Toss up between that and the Dromedary. They both have STYLE...

And look at Rhinos' cockpit - there IS a similarity with bounty hunters' ships... Maybe I'm getting paranoid, but... there is something about it.

The Bounty Hunters design another cool looking ship in expense for quality and combat efectiveness.

Rhino and style? That blasphemous to put those two words next to each other. The Clydsedale on the other hand...
