Last night whilst looking through perfoptions.ini I noticed one entry called "advanced graphics" which was set to 0. On impulse I changed it to 1 and fired up the game. The improvement was amazing! Has anyone else noticed this/ tried this?
All the time that I've been playing the game I have been plagued with the image sort of stuttering when there is a lot of action going on. Changing that setting cured the problem and now no matter how much is going on the image flows smoothly.
perfoptions.ini isn't in the game directory, it is in "my documents\freelancer " which is also where saved game files are kept.

I've posted on changing 'advanced_graphics' in PerfOptions.ini before in this forum, but not very many people seemed interested in the thread!
I too changed it to 1, but didn't notice any improvement in visual quality, so changed it back. I'll have to adjust it to 1 again, and play for a while to see if it sorts out stuttering when there's lots of action going on. Maybe Mission 3 when you have go go rescue research station Willard from attacking Rheinland gunboats would be a good time to change it and see if it improves the framerate !!
