Save MP character

I´m new at MP. Silly question but how do I play with my character the next time in MP? Do I have to choose the same server? When I connect to a server the character list is empty. Where is my MP-character I created earlier?

The character you create is saved on the server you played on. So if you change servers you've gotto create a new character.
