i just dont get it....

i just dont get it....

In some posted topics i have noticed people saying for example;

By the time my 800Mhz 192Mb machine has caught up in a fire fight iam usually dead;

what i dont get is i was running freelancer (when i first bought it) on a 450Mhz P3 with 128 Mb and a simple GeForce 2, (running at the default rez, and details set to half) and i never had any issues with stalling or crashing or laggin,

i just dont get it?

I experience a lot of lag if I have sounds on, since I have a sucky soundcard.

It might be the same thing for them too.

I've got a Pentium III 1 gig, but only 128 Ram. I never get killed because of it, but at times it gets irritating when I have to pause in the midst of a ferocious battle and wait for the dratted thing to catch up. Just a minor nuisance.

Like you said "gus" it could be the sound,
i have an Audigy, maybe that might be where the increase in performance is...

i have a 566mhz, 265memory and nothing has ever gone wrong even it lagged not once while freelancer reqiuerments :s are 600mhz????????
