Not speed. In a regular non-modded gameplay they all provide you with the same top speed, which is 200 units of velocity per units of time used. The difference between those models though, is how much power they drain, ie. how long you can use them before you run out of power. That, and of course price.

There's an Advanced Thruster. But I forget where it is. Can't be too difficult to find though. It's not secret or anything.

Is Thruster Drain related to Energy Usage(Weapons) and Regeneration Drain (Shields)?

If you read the spec sheet on each type you will find that the Advanced Thruster has a regenerative feed back loop so it will go A LOT longer without running out of power.

Use this with the kill engine slide technique and you will be hard to hit in a fight and deadly to those that would do you harm, I believe you can buy the advanced thruster once you get to mission 10 or 11.
