Make sure your rep is ok with the faction that runs that base, you have to be solid nuetral before they'll let you buy higher level guns.

WHY Can't it be super-super good? I have a very good rep with Bretonia...shouldn't they let u get even higher class weapons?

you may not have enough credits, or you may just need to get even friendlier.

Check which faction owns that base by talking to the characters in the bar. It might be IMG or Republican Shipping.Your rep might not be too good with those factions. You'll probably need to be about 3-4 blocks from hostile red (or more) to purchase their goodies.

You can also check who controls a base by bringing up your NAV map and clicking on the base and then clicking the question mark icon when it comes up. It will give you all kinds of useful info about the base, even the type of commodities sold there as well as which faction controls it.

Not only that, if memory serves me correctly the Cavalier only has two level 5 gun ports. I'd a shed load of level 4's on mine, and then tried to swap two for two level 5's, but deselected the wrong two guns... if that makes any sense at all...

I just sold my Cavelier in MP so it's fresh in the memory:

The Cavelier does indeed have two level 4 slots and two level 5 slots. You probebly can't buy the adv. Skyrails (lev5) because the lev5 slots are already occupied.
I used the advanced Skyrail in combination with two lev4 Rippers. Good combo and lookes cool to!

but i didn't have one level 5 cannon on the cavalier!!Also, u people should have red my earlier post, 20000 credits. I just have one question...who controls LEEDS ( the planet)?

If you mouse hover over the guy selling the ships and have pop-up help enabled, you'll see who owns the planet.

Edit: Also, as equipment levels increase, so does the required level of your relationship with someone.

You should have read their posts.

The Skyrail is class 4, and Adv. Skyrail is class 5.

The Skyrail was probably in a class 4 slot. The Adv. Skyrail doesn't fit into a class 4 slot.

Credit's don't help, it's the ship.

Also, if you were on Single Player, it might have had a level requirement. I think you need to be level 10 to get class 5 weapons.
