Well, I'm a little confused as to what you're asking , but yes, you do have to complete Random Missions and raise money, get a better ship, explor, etc. That really is all there is to Multiplay. Except for the fact that you can dogfight with real opponents.

Co-op is really nice. The other day I entered formation with my brother so that I could browse through my loot for some guns to give him, and he drove us straight into the minefield around Zone 21 ...

Needless to say, after that I didn't have to worry about the choice anymore.

multiplay gets boring after a while because of these mods comig out now, of coarse they are fun to try but they too get boring. after you find the monkey planet of coarse

@Young Vader: You can always start asking people (online, of course) questions like "OK, so what do I do now?", "Why would I want to do that?", "Are you my daddy?", "Can you tell me where can I find Planet Manhattan?"... That should get you (and them) started... And maybe get you "ended" soon after...
@Lutz: Kinda... It's more like Single Player ( mp is not Many Players, it's MultiPlayer )
