@logic: If I were you I'd stay with the GF4Ti for the time being...
@PantherRAS: The effect you'rwe talking about aren't the special effects/details, they are game fx for the engines, weaps, and other stuff. The level of detail is handled in the PerfOptions.ini file, located in ...\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\. look for these entries:
level_of_detail = 1.00
DitherControl = 1.00
use_environment_maps = 1.00
high_detail_textures = 1.00
Nebula = 1.00
SunEffect = 1.00
Asteroids = 1.00
space_dust_detail = 1.00
star_sphere = 1.00
AtmosphereMaterialConfig = 1.00
rtc_performance = 1.00
general_graphics = 1.00
advanced_graphics = 0.00
default_graphics = 1.00
NOTE: These options are also changeable in-game. The values are 0.00(lowest quality) to 1.00(highest quality). As you can see, I'm keeping them at high quality, and everything works perfect under 1024x786x32x24(texture z depth) on a GF4 Ti4200.
Careful what you wish... You might just get it.
