There's no real way to tell for sure; I just assume that they are equally effective against all shields.

Your assumption is correct and here's the evidence.

In the .ini's, each gun weapon has a line for weapon type (eg "weapon_type = W_Photon01".

This is used in weaponmoddb.ini to specify damage vs shields

... meaning photon gun types do 120% damage to positron shields but only 80% damage to graviton (01, 02, 03 being LF / HF /FR )

The nomad guns don't have a line for weapon type - so they must do 100% damage to each shield type.

The same is true for the CODENAME weapons. No weapon_type definiton.

This should maybe be in spoilers anyway.

you need either a CODENAME weapon or a skyblast b thrown in there to use as a rapid fire weapon

Try another missile launcher? I use at the moment 2 missile launchers. It fires 2 missiles at once. Very efficient.

I love my modded Eagle. Dual Tizona Del Cids, quarduple Cerberuses, dual Firestalkers, Sunslayer Torpedo, Hornet Cruise Disruptor, Ripper Mine, Adv. CMs. I'm thinking about putting in another Gun/Missile hardpoint or two for Cannonballs.
Too bad IT DOESN"T ****ING WORK!

If you wan't a real good duel ship, here it is:

Ship: Eagle
- 2x Tizona del Cid
- Cannonball Missile
- 3x Nomad energy cannons/blasters
- Turret doesn't really matter that much, maybe salamanca for e.g.
- Hornet Cruise Disruptor
- Advanced Countermeasure Dropper

You just have to blast the target's shields off, and then launch one cannonball
at the right spot and BOOM. I know, I've never lost a duel with this combination.
If your opponent has some VERY HEAVY armored ship (I don't mean any of the
normal very heavy fighters), you might wan't to target the thruster with the missile. No thruster = you're dead.

ditch the missles, your just shooting money in space with missles. Grab another pair of nomads or go with a IRONHAMMER or VENGEANCE or anyother codename weapon. Id stick with the nomads though. Even though the codenames are stronger they drain energy. With 4 nomads there aint no stoppin!

Fill your class 10 weapon slots with Nomad weapons. They use zero energy & deliver more firepower than any other weapon available.
Nomad cannons deliver 2566/second, and the Nomad blasters deliver 2540/second but at a faster rate of fire. As with all weapons other than pulse, their shield stripping ability is half that output.
In your Class 9 positions, use a pair of Kraken 2 (9) which deliver 2344/second each. If not available to you yet , then Wyrm 2 (9) at 1925/second or Salalmanca 2 (9) at 1956/second are fine.
Do not overload with Tizona del Cid's as they are virtually useless once they have stripped the shields. Good to have one, but one only.
You can bypass the Tizona by using your turret weapon - if it fires forward - as a Rapier (8) turret which gives 3232 shield damage /second.

If you dont have a forward facing turret - then do have 1 x Tizona. Your turret should then be a Kraken (8) or a Skyblast A (8)
