the scale is perfict in this game. sence all the people in this game are 1000 feet tall...

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea for melting down coins to make a giant robotic parrot was a bad idea, I would have one kicka$$ giant robotic parrot.

The game is out of proportion in order to compress it in space/time, and my only quibble with it is that they made trade lane travel speed so slow (apparently this was done so that you can admire the scenery, ho-hum). And that you cannot skip the cutscenes/scripts in SP, hehe.

Just look at how long it takes you in real life to go from one big city to another on the same bloody planet, or even from one spot in a big city to another. If history is anything to go by then space travel won't be any faster, only slower. So, if they had used realistically sized planets/star systems and realistic travel times then players would probably get bored out of their minds. Although I did run across a thread where somebody seriously suggested that traveling from one system to another should take at least 10 to 20 minutes ...

Just to get the thing about realism in proper perspective: the light from Sol does take about 8 minutes to reach Earth, and compared to other planets Earth is still comparatively close to the sun.

LOL, that's the most ludicrous one I've heard yet.

Personally, I think the best way to cut out the "boring" transit part of a trip IMHO is to use a Wing Commander-style flyby cutscene to represent the long transit.

That would have obviated the need to resort to twisted and wierdo improbable explanations!

The only thing wrong with the game is the universe is too small... I have run out of new places to explore ... Killed so many Xenos i am starting to feel sorry for them .... I am now trying to find things where i know there is nothing and have started planet surfing for kicks... How close can u go b4 the bang?
Please Mr.Gamemaker God hurry up with the expansion pack

Yo, if you want REAL scale, buy I-war 2 (if you can find it). besides, their (particle systems) devs really support modding and let ya do all kinds of stuff, which sux cuz the MP in i-war is bad

wish you could program new mods with a c-based language for FL??? i do
