Free play?

Hey, is there some way to play Freelancer free without finishing the main storyline?

I have finished the game, and now i want to start again, but as a smuggler and pirate, without palying the whole plot once again.

I have ignored the call to meet Jun`Ko in Cambridge for some days, but i wonder if i can level up as long as i have a command in the plot.

You won't level up. I heard rumors of mods to do what you want, or else
do MP or join your own server. (run server, run FL, connect as LAN)

Look for the OpenSP mod in the downloads section.

I have also got OpenSP but when the game starts up, i got stuck in level 13 with a starflier and 500 credits. so how do i go back? there is no planet to save on so i can skip my location with the file save editor V and there are only 3 suns
I am located in the green area at the edge of the Nav map...

i didn't have the weaponsmod in use...maybe because i am using the 1.01 patch from microsoft

yes, only if you run an internet server do you want the patch.

i found my error: somehow i installed the mod wrong and the 13th mission which is used to start from was placed somewhere else thus not overwritting the present (Omega system) one.
