A good in-system trade route early in the SP game, before you can go through a jumpgate, is Ft. Bush -->Pittsburgh with pharmecueticals $111-$144. Then get Boron at Pittsburgh and sell at Ft. Bush $120-$144. It may not be the most profitable in the NY system, but it's a very quick route to run. You can rack up $4560 per round trip in a Rhino and that round trip is very fast. You can get a lot of cash quickly.
Looking over the stats again, there is a trade route that has to be the shortest in the whole game. In the New York system, the battleship Missouri is moored right next to the Norfolk Shipyards. Get H3 at the Missouri for $336 and hop right over to Norfolk and sell for $360 then get toxic waste for $10 at Norfolk and goto the Missou and sell for $12! Unbelievable, you stay under the the safety
of the Norfolk's and Missou's guns and no need to worry about a trade lane disruption while you shuttle back & forth between them making profits!
When your done, you can go buy the fighter Defender at the Missou before going on to the next mission. This is a great way to start the game and build quick cash.

"Try the route from Fort Bush to Baltimore Shipyard and back. A full round trip takes less than two minutes and you can earn $32,000,000 per run - about $1,000,000,000 per hour - if you do this in a Large Transport or a Heavy Lifter"
How the hell do you get a large transport or heavy lifter? I haven't seen *any* mods that allow this. If anyone knows please tell me. I would love to increase my profit margin heh heh heh
