Best CapitalShip Killer?

I am using the flrebalance09c mod and am at the mission in SP where you, **(!!POSSIBLE SPOILER!!)** Quintain, Juni, and Sinclair run into the Rheinland fleet and are saved by Kress' men. I was flying the TIE Defender decked out with 6 lvl6 Adv Tarantula cannons. I FOUND THAT I COULD RIP UP ANY CAPITAL SHIP IN MY WAY IN SECONDS! Even the battleship fell in moments. I used no torps.

What loadout do you find is good for killing Capital Ships (hunter-killers, I call 'em)?

My conviction is like an arrow in flight, your life will only last until it reaches you.

The best loadout is the strongest loadout.....

the Tie defender is serioulsy unbalanced. to fast, to small, too powerful , just like in the original game.

I would take an entire rebel fleet with a Tie Defender..

Rapid fire weapons tend to work well. You fly parallel to the ship, at an appropriate speed, (fast if it is firing, slow if it is inactive) cut engines when you get within range, and rotate your ship to strafe the living crap out of it, circle around and do it again. If you cut it close enough, start dropping mines like crazy. They will give you extra damage. A good way to do this WITHOUT getting cramps on your hands is to activate all weapons in the lower left menu.

It works. If you get yourself hurt, haul ass out of the combat area, re-charge, and come back.

OR, pelt it with torpedoes from max-range. That is assuming the battle ship doesn't have fighter cover.

I'm using the rebalance mod now too.

In my last play through, I got the Tie Defender also. After hooking up with the Blood Dragons, I used these handy dandy new jumpholes to look up some wrecks with Class 10 weapons. I managed to fully outfit the Tie with Class 10s to spare. I even made myself friendly with the Outcasts.

The rest of the campaign was way too easy after that. And afterwards, the Outcasts were no longer my friends. Waaaahhh!
