Can''t get my rep hacked

I have 500,000 credits and the guy at Freeport One tells me that it costs 180,000 and when I accept he says "You're financially embarrassed". Why is that?

Do you actually have 500,000 credits (look in your trade window) or is your networth 500,000 (player status) which includes ship, weapons, sheilds, batteries etc. This might be the problem.
