After completing a 135K mission in a Humpback, I let the autopilot fly me back to Malta. When destination was reached, the ship continued with 80 m/s into the planet atmosphere while I was busy making screenshots.

I died in exactly the same way evilphish did. In retrospect i can't really believe i actually went in there with such a crap ship and crap weapons. After making some fancy moves and fleeing for the woods(with some helps from the bounty hunters, they're nice on occasion) i didn't go back until i had thouroghly(how the hell do you spell that) bribed my way into the hessians hearts and gotten neutral with the rest. I mean, i was flying a humpback then so killing my way to fame was not viable...

Well, after I had done the missions I thought I'd mess about a bit and thought I'd pay a visit to Zone 21, or whatever its called. So off I go with my cruise engines on, and I drift off a bit, as its quite a way off. Then I look back. oh my GOD! How long was i looking away for? I slam into the first mine, losing my shields. I just manage to turn the damn engines off, then as I'm turning I clip the outer spike of the mine, and BOOM!
Bugger.

The first time I died ws in SP when I tried to go head on against a Rheinland Battleship when we were protecting Sinclair and Professor Quintain. I felt really stupid doing that.

My dumbest death?

Nailing myself with my own torpedo.

I had just gotten a sunslayer, wanted to try it out...took a "kill-the-base" mission. Flew out, popped off a torpedo...then I hit the turbo and somehow wound up in front of the missile. Oops, boom, no more me, reload autosave.

My first death was somewhat faster-I was returning from the junkers base in Texas to the NY jumpgate in my brand new spiffy Rhino, when I located a jump hole...oooo! I jumped through, and got instantly nailed by about 10 outcasts. I didn't touch that jump hole again until I was lvl38.

Reaper: $200,000,000.

I tried to get into Kansai Research Station in whatever the hell system and I saw some mines, so I creeped up to them with my eagle and level 10 shields. A mine blew, my shields were gone, it blew again, and then I was little pieces of metal.

The moral of the story is, don't try to do that even with an eagle. I don't see how the blood dragons can do it...

Gotts be a recent one, i was board with fighting hoards of bounty hunters in FP9, so with my spiffy new eagle i run for the sun corona figuring theyd blow up first, but then i got too far in, they died, then I died.

Sigma-17. I tried to autopilot directly from the Sigma-13 jump hole to the Omicron Theta jump hole, the autopilot took me right into the sun's corona, and I kept burning up no matter which way I turned. POOF!

Well that system with the big freaking neutron star in the middle is generally a bad thing. I hit the auto pilot trying to get to the other side of the star. No corona, so there wasn't any warning, I just assumed my hull would be fine. Guess the Sabre isn't meant to go stardiving in

I was thinking my new Titan with a pair of THOR'S HAMMER's was pretty much invincible when I jumped into a hostile system... It is very easy to die when you have 30+ ships of various strengths attacking you from every angle... Especially when they're for the most part extremely agile (except for the the 3 or 4 cargo trains I killed straight away), and your ship deserves the nickname "flying brick" more than the space shuttle does...

The third type of death i got was when i Was in a nebula and, when I noticed a planet in front of me it was too late


Finally, tried to go to the Neutron Star that is in one of the omega systems, thinking it was a planet...Noticed to late
