Whats with the Lvl 10 weapons?

Whats with the Lvl 10 weapons?

I played freelancer for about 2 days after the release multiplayer. Then completed about 2 days later single player.

I noticed that Most of the Lvl 10 weapons are like this.

Hull Damage: 1000
Shield Damage: 500
Refire Rate: 2.00
Energy usage: 275

All of them having about 30 damage and energy difference. I think only one of the lvl 10 weapons has a different fire rate. Now whats up with that?

Yeah I wasn't too impressed with that either. The first wreck I found was in one of the Sigma systems when I was forced to leave the trade lane. It got me curious, but after I realized (after hours and hours of searching) that they all were basically the same.... bleh...

It's just my guess but I figure they are geared for multiplay, so that more people can have similar yet buff weapons...

forget the hull breach, what about the FIRE?[!?[!?

I've seen level 10 weapons with 2.00, 3.03 (3.04? not sure specifically), and 4.00. It doesn't really bother me, though. I just cascade slow refire weapons in situations where I want rapidfire pelt to help track a target. What bothers me more than refire rate is projectile speed. 600 is ok, I guess, but I really prefer 700.

i never really notice projectile speed, except when I have a 550m/s and a 700m/s mounted near to each other, and fire rate is just preference. it would be nice if there were some experimental lasers neutron, instead of just stinky ole 2.00 and 3.03s...... but hey, when you are 100m behind ur target, then it doesn't matter how fast you fire or how muich energy your guns use, they will be dead within a single pass, and those numbers, 1137 hull, just look sooooo sexy when paired up with a sabre.

in terms of between different lvl10s, however, it really boils down to aesthetics for me. like I said, 500 shld, 1000 hull is very little diff than 440 shld 880 hull, so i try and use guns that are pretty as well as effective. and having a spread of different ones is also very nice...... seeing that hail of blue blaze, (which is funny 'cause it's not actually blue) iron hammer, jade (again, funny, not green) and bloodstone streak out and connect is one beee-yooo-teee-ful sight. (plus the fact that now their shields are at about half, then depleted, then hull ticks down and BOOOM!)

i don't eve search for them anymore but when you do fire them they look cool
