Score - drop the loot

Sorry if I was unclear, I was in a hurry...
Of course you can only dump the loot they specifically ask for,
but it's been my experience that some NPCs do NOT ask for your
best loot. Seen this a LOT with Junkers. Sometimes I lol at them
ignoring my Gold and asking for Scrap Metal. In my humper I usually
shipped only 245 units and would pick up junk in combat. This stuff
I'd hand over. Sometimes when facing Junker type mooches but no
hostiles I'd buy 3-4 units of bulk just so they'd have an alternative
to demand. That's what I meant.

They never demand any cargo from me - currently only the Farmer's Alliance is neutral toward me.

I'm wondering - if you click cancel on the demand, go to inventory, then jettison 1 unit of what they are asking for, do they back off? I'll have to try that.

It's only the White Neutrals who rob you. Red attack & Green ignore.

I tried this in the demo, didn't work. Not fast enough?
Better to have a 'Decoy' cargo, I think.

I don't drop cargo. I will not ever drop a single unit. I really couldn't care if it's a rougue or a corsair, but if I paid for it, I'm keeping it. I simply refuse to get pushed around by AI's. If they decide to shoot me for it, god help 'um, because they will have triggered a vendetta against their faction for as long as it takes to fill my hold with their dead ships' loot.

The greatest annoyance is when you buy cargo at a base of a faction that is just barely neutral with you-they order you to drop it as soon as you launch, before you've even cleared the docking bay. Then the timer expires before you're far enough away, and you get all the angry AI's a whole base can throw at you.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

I occasionally drop my cargo and then pick it back up again cos i am too impatient to wait for them after i press cancel and on the server i play on most (New Republic Freelancers). Occasionally they just decide its a bad idea and run occasionally i blast them away other times i just let them run. Human players no-one has challenged me for cargo but as i mostly do missions that doesnt surprise me.

It make take a life time to get it right but it only takes a moment to lose it all again.

I DO treat cargo I buy different from cargo I loot.

After all the fights and money I spend on bribes to balance my Rep,
the last thing I want to do is mess that all up by killing the twerps.
Especially if I'm flying a Freighter. JMHO

I might be really lucky, but in my experience, pirates / police rarely have enough time to scan my cargo. The only time that they do is when there is traffic at a base / jump gate.

If you hit cancel and dock with a lane or jump hole (which takes a fraction of a second if you time it right), does your rep suffer?
