Longevity
For example. You complete mission 1, and Juni tells you to spread your wings in the New York system, but before you can have a good fly around, and explore, she wants to meet you again for mission 2. One mission, or a trade run even in a small fighter is enough. Surely, it would have been much better to set the money you had to earn to trigger this event to a much higher value, stopping people from just barging through the main plot, and increasing the longevity of the game.
After completing mission 1, I fully explored the New York System before taking the second story mission (the cardamine in that derelict gave my cash a 30k boost). Now, after completing this mission, I want to explore the rest of Liberty Space before taking story mission 3. But after docking at BS Missouri and watching the post mission 2 cutscene, JUST BUYING some h-fuel (how can this increase my net worth?) has triggered Juni to contact me again for mission 3. This is taking the piss. Like forcing me to rush through the main story missions.
So, now I'm going to have to explore the rest of Liberty space, afraid to trade, and purposely trying to waste cash, so that when I eventually do mission 3, I wont hop up several levels because of the cash I earned in the meanwhile.
I understand that some people will just want to charge through the story missions and then never play the game again, but for hardcore gamers like myself, almost forcing you to fleet through such a well crafted and complex universe seems such a waste of a game.
