Battleship kills are possible ONLY during the main storyline missions. I've never scored a battleship kill.

I got 8 BS kills just remember to have Starkiller torps at your expense at all times before entering missions provided by Juni.. they will be useful in targeting the cruisers as cruisers are counted as Battleship counts too.. i managed to take down 3 real Battleships the rest is just cruisers from the Rheinland fleet good hunting

You can kill battleships (Not the ones you dock with) in the Frostworks Level 2 mod. There are patrols (usually around capital planets, finally!) consisting of one battleship, and a few cruisers and destroyers. This is a good mod, finally capital planets are guarded like they're actually capitals.

For a good time, try killing a rheinland battleship with drone mines-----that's how i scored my first one

Killing battleships is so easy. All you have to do is fly really close to the ship and it can't hit you! Then you can just blast away at it. (The only problem with this is that you have to wipe all the other enemies out first or they shoot your stationary ship)
