Did anyone finish the Benitez job ?
Hi there,
Have you been able to finish the "Look for Benitez son" job ? There is one rumour that the cartel Boss Benitez wants his son back for 6 million reward. He has also hired one very good freelancer to do that job.
Well ... I encountered that guy ( Santiago Llorens) in a bar in Cadiz and he told me that he will fly to Atka station, kill everyone and free a brother Outcast.
OK .... thats what i did. Destroyed all station guns .... but you cannot further hurt the station any more. Killed LOADS of Cryer ships near the station .... nope, no change.
Well... switch in tactics. Altered my rep with Cryer and landed at the station. Lots of rumours about experiments with Outcast personnel on the station. Talked to one Bounty Hunter which used a special bounty hunter only pulse weapon to stun ship crew ... and who brought a lone Outcast pilot to the base.
Benitez son was not the only captured Outcast personnel. Talk from Cryer personnel of Test Subject (long number, a female) which killed lots of Cryer people and held out at the com station for a few (fighting) hours.
And thats it .... no more rumour from the Cryer boys. No further hints.
I tried to suck up to them doing more jobs but the change in Rep upwards is marginal and still no more talk from the Cryer guys.
I tried to find Llorens again ( maybe on Malta, as the article mentions him to go back to Benitez for briefing). Did not work.
Maybe I have to ask around at other Cryer Pharmaceutical Bases in Liberty ?!
Maybe Benitez son is on a wrecked ship in an escape pod in the system ?
( I explored the system thoroughly, tough)
Maybe there is a special "job / mission" on the mission board ? ( but I only get missions sponsored by the Bounty Hunter Guild on Atka station).
Any success with that job on your part ?

Some further thoughts:
1) Did not play multiplayer Freelancer so far. Do you know any good servers where one can expect to play Freelancer with 127 other players non stop for weeks ? Sounds like a very interesting idea. Especially doing
cooperative jobs or direct conflicts or non-violent competition.
2) Did you ever have chance to tractor in any "viroids", "Biowarfare agents", "toxic waste" etc. ? To hell with the job reward ... I want to try to sell that stuff. But it did not work .... tractor does not work and I can only destroy
the ampulles.
3) Did you find any planetary bodies or station in the second "Unknown" system ( what I call the "Nomad" system .... with all the Outcast tomb ships around the jump hole) - I searched the system extensively ... you can fly WAY off the chart for an hour into the direction of the second sun ... and beyond. But I found nothing, although the system seems to be in a long "tunnel".
4) Ever found the OSIRIS again after the story was finished ?
5) What is your opinion about the story finale ? My understanding is that we activated a recall signal from the "bosses" of the Nomads ... so most of them returned to them via the Hyper-Net. Not all of them .... there are LOADS and LOADS near and in the two "Unknown" systems I have found so far. Which is a good thing ... as my weapons of choice are Nomad energy cannons
