Missiles and their Physics: Do you understand it?

I have to disagree with that. The high-level Javelin series missiles (Lancer and Cannonball) do a high amount of damage, and even hit quite consistently if you know how and particularly when to use them.


I'm not saying they don't do high damage. I'm just saying they aren't accurate or damaging enough to justify their cost . This is simply a matter of opinion and game preference, but I prefer missiles as uber-weapons. Take something like what you'll find in the mechwarrior franchise: some people love SRM's: short range missiles with very high damage but almost no homing ability, but I by far prefer LRM's: less damaging than energy weapons, but their range outdistances everything else and their homing ability is excellent... basically I want missiles like the cruise disruptors but that deal some good damage (not as much damage as an equally classed missile like we have now, but more than a cruise disruptor).

yes, i am disappointed by the damage of missiles. not until the higher level missiles do they really have a damaging potential worth using.

but for me the whole point of missiles is that i find them much more fun to use than the normal weapons. i don't mind the costs. when your making $100,000 a mission, most missiles cost wont hardly dent that. but most worthwhile missiles will cost around $78,000 for ten of them, and that makes it not so worth it in the higher levels.

but i have fun with a full compliment of missile launchers. to me there is no more satisfying feeling than seeing a single volley of missiles blow an enemy to bits. and that brings one more thing to mind: its impossible to destroy anything that has shields with a single hit. i have launched sunslayer torpedoes at my victims, and they just loose their shields. its depressing.

missiles has no use.
it's too weak and too expensive..

In the previous versions of WC, missiles has more uses, like we have missiles that takes out shields, missiles that put damage thru shields, and also nuclear missiles (which takes out everything around it splash radius) And don't forget the leech missiles, sucks evertying out from your ship.

I remembered playing WC, where the small fast ships are more vulnerable to missiles as oppose to the bigger ones, those that afford to have lots of CM.

and being hit by more than two missiles usually results in ...death..

and you can also fire missiles far far away than you can target them with guns.

Maybe somebody can just mod this.. (or maybe tell me how?..)
