Unknown Jump Gate Within Mine Field?? Help!!

Ok I don't know if this has been brought up before but at West Point Station In the new york system, I was heading to texas and saw a jump gate out to my left as I headed to the trade lane. I clicked on it and it said unknown so I flew towards it and its covered....completely COVERED in a mine field. I can't even fly through the mines. I tried going around the mines to, i went out to the left and circled all the way around, then I went up the mines, and then down them looking for an opening. Am I just an idiot and am missing something? Or maybe this had been anwered a long time ago I don't know but can someone tell me how to get to it, or even where it leads to? It's really aggrivating. Thanks for helping.

have you tried clearing a path with you gun weapons?

I also found this in the demo. If you look up information on the sector in your neural net it says something about it being restricted area controlled by the Liberty Navy and that all ships attempting to enter the area will be Nullified.

It's my guess that the area is just there to keep you entertained or it may play a part in the storyline at some stage.

Plus guys, is there any way to enter a mine field with any of the default ships without being blown up?

The Gate is to Alaska and there is a path way through the mine field you just have to search, go past the base a little, forgot it's name, then turn left towards the gate

about 16k away from battleship missouri in path of the tradelane theres a way through the minefield.

yet nothing to see there and the jumphole is disabled (unless you modded it to be activated)

Theres nothing there, except jumpgate. You cant go in it. Only there because of single player campaign, where its part of the mission and you have to...well...that would be a spoiler wouldnt it
