I played EV all 4 years of highschool, only reason I stopped is cause I don't have a mac at home (school had macs... hehehehe)
And I totally agree... I played the demo, and at first I thought wow, this might be EV in 3d! then I bought the game... and... meh. SP is nice. But it's not nearly as cool as the EV series.

Have you no shame? quit advertising other games in Freelancer forum if you want to talk about other games, do it in the Off Topic forum, and still, lay off phrases like "what FL should've been" or "this is way better than FL".

Well if it is true, and EVN is what FL was promised to be. The title of "Free Lancer", being free in the universe. Now that is a load of crap. You aren't free at all in SP, you have to do their SINGLE storyline. I am just saying that, we as the modding community, can improve it highly!

Just because you're "right" it does not make it appropriate to advertise another game in FL forum. Besides, you being right is debatable. If you own a restaurant, would be appropriate if I came there and order a pizza from another place?

Modding? nice save. You never mentioned it before. Which is it? modding or EVN? there's being right, and there's knowing manner.

I am not advertising EVN. All I think is that Microsoft and Digital Anvil went off for a long time about this game getting hopes up, but don't get me wrong it is fun, but it doesn't last at all. I am advertising the fact that Microsoft and DA basically lied to people about the game when they were developing it, but oh, they can make it what ever they want it to be, and that is fine with me. DA and Microsoft should have put more time into this game to put out a more solid product, instead of a game that is screwed up all over. One example: Missles! They are GAY! Lets fire a 11,000 credit missle that only takes their shields half way down or so, what is the point of buying one. Second Example: You aren't free in FL, you have to follow the only plot of the game. 3rd Example: EVERYONE AND THEIR DOGG CHEATS ON FL. Oh and you can't join factions own stations or do CRAP!

Their are a lot of other things, but don't make me go off onto them. What annoys me is that you are getting pissed off that I am voicing my opinion on how I felt that FL should have been and was supposed to be. You can come on here and say all the crap you want but now I can't?

Problem is TLR is a fansite. You come here and say the game we love is crap and not expect flame? dream on.

Well sorry, i'm a BIG fan of FL myself, and i've spend all my nightly hours on it since i've got it, but he DOES have a point.

Replayability once you've hit lvl 38 becomes dramatically low, because of lack of things to do.

Yeah sure it's fun to kill of them silly nomads, or take on Bretonia Police and armed forces alone, but hey, it WOULD be fun to create your own faction, own your own station and most of all: Be able to EXPLORE! as i am a true Elite junky, that's what i miss the most, the universe is too small, and it's a drag to navigate through it.

I hope that DA en MS will come with a patch soon, or the great modders here at TLR do, so that replayability becomes better, because i DO love this game, but it's not massive enough to hold interest right now.

I personally think that freelancer in a great game and i have spend a large amount of my evenings to play it so I think that the bare game is a good adventure in it self. But I do feel that they have missed the opportunity to let the players fly extremely large ships e.g Gun boats, Commanding battleships, Huge space transporters etc. Also the lack of hireing escorts to help you in missions (how often do you see a npc space ship travelling alone anywhere in freelancer)

I am not coming here and saying FL is crap. It is a good fun game, just it has a lot of holes and ends quickly.

I think the problem scurvy is that in the first post, you were basically advertising. You didn't discuss what you didn't like about FL you just promoted another game.

What I find interesting is everyone complaining about SP. It was especially short for a game, and basically was there just to give you the feel of the universe (in my opinion). I can see other people's PoV that you should have the option to skip the SP and just play the free universe. Well that's a vaild point, and the modders have corrected it with OpenSP.
