OK this may be a dumb question as I haven't played the game much yet, but is it possible to attack ships going through the trade lanes (if you are a pirate). Cheers!
According to the in-game rumors/info, only the Lane Hackers have the technology to scan ships coming through the Trade Lanes. However, if you just want to attack ships to make money, park yourself outside of a Trade Lane ring and shoot it until the blue shield bar is gone. At that point, the trade lane will deactivate and dump anyone who is going through. After that, it's "pirate" time.
all you do is take the trade lane. When you're half-way through, hit esc to exit out of the lane. Once you're out (of the trade lane) simply head over to the nearest ring and shoot at it 'till the blue bar underneath is depleted. That's it. The Trade lane should flash and any ships coming through that area will be knocked out (of the trade lane)
