Why can''t I USE this shield

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The shield is in my CARGO.. A NEW one is 14,000 credits. The one I have (in cargo) is worth 4,474. and the stats are the same! Its a shield I'd like to have.. why can't I thow that sheild into a slot I made for it? (Sold my old one) It didn't move up.

Must I really sell and re- buy??

you see that gigsaw puzzle thing in the picture?

click on it to mount it

likewise if it's mounted, click on the gigsaw icon(which would be together) in the object to unmount it

Don't feel bad, man. It took me forever to figure that out. I spent a lot of time bitching to my roommate about how this stupid game wouldn't let me use equipment I salvage

LOL Then I felt like a total ass when I accidentally unmounted one of my guns.
