Ho hum.. out tommorow. Any tips?

Well FL hits the shops in the UK tommorow. Any tips on how to get the most out of the game?

Take your time and don't rush through it like the people on the boards who says that they've gotten to lvl 38 in just a few hours....there's a lot to see out there in the various systems....even in little liberty....

Don't just go from mission to mission in the SP storyline...you will see a whole lot more if you explore a little bit...

just my 2 cents...

I agree with Mav. Try to think of the game as an open-ended opportunity to explore and experiment with combat, commodity shipping, piracy, smuggling, etc. See it as a vast galaxy to explore and exploit. And then see the single-player game as a bonus that was thrown in for fun. That's how I see it.

If you just play the game for the SP missions and race through as fast as you can, then you have missed the point of the game.

Ultimately, it's a sand-box game. There is no way to win or lose (unless you die). You just explore and try to make money any way you can (I.E. Freelancing).

Have fun!

Yup, I agree, take your time. You often get told to "come to Planet X and meet me urgently!" but you don't have to do that. Instead, get out and explore while it's all still fresh, rather than leaving it till after the campaign is over.

Exactly. In fact, refuse the missions. Some of the dialogues is fscking hilarious.

If trying to complete games makes you enjoy them the most (like I do), you shouldn't expect FL to last very long (think 15-20 hours and you wont be disappointed). On the other hand, you'll have a pretty good time while the game lasts.

It's not quite as complex or deep as you might think from reading about it on the official site, but as an action game, well, I've played a lot worse.
