mineable zones

What for mineable zones in freelancer? Can I earn for this?

Yeah, ok. I'm gonna try my hand at deciphering what you just said. I think Strongbad would have a field day with your post.

The mineable zones in Freelancer are areas that contain small moving objects that you can shoot. These objects show up with a white crosshair when you position your targetting reticule over them. Depending on the area you are in, some of these objects will release commodities (water, scrap metal, gold) when shot. You can then tractor those items in and sell them at a base.

Some tips:

- Use only 1 gun when shooting the objects. More firepower has the potential to destroy the item you are mining for.
- Some systems have "better" zones than others. I.E., these zones drop more commodities per object (asteroid, debris.etc) than others. Search around for the better fields.
- Watch for roaming bad guys. Most mineable zones are patrolled by those who would prefer that you don't take thier precious commodities.

With time and a little luck, you can have a lucrative career as a miner.

Those are my thoughts, not yours, I'm WapCaplet[!

if your ship is equipped with 5 guns, how would you fire only one of them?

u can turn off ur gun(s) and turret(s) by click the weapons in ur lower right windows. when turn off, it will be white not green.
Or u can use the weapon number in keyboard, like 1 to fire weapon #1,etc (default setting)

To fire with only one weapon, you could also use the keyboard: press "1" to fire weapon on slot 1, press "2" to fire weapon 2, and so on... i find this method easier than turning weapons on and off. Besides, in an emergency (like pirates), you´ll have all your guns ready under your left mouse button.

edit: SORRY Djarum, I DIDN´T READ EVERYTHING... i´m in a hurry...
