I use Win98SE. To play DOS games, I just use a boot disk. No need to have an old FAT partition. I use FAT32 and a Win98SE boot disk which I modified to play games. It's perfect. The only problem is: my computer is too fast for some games (X-COM, Elite Plus, Frontier, FFE...) and I love them... :-(

The reason why I need to have a FAT patition (16 or 32, doesn't matter, as long as DOS can recognize it) is because Win2K by default uses NTFS.

I like the stability of Win2K's NT architecture, which is why I'm running that platform. Unlike Win9x, I hardly ever get CTDs or memory leaks when running games with Win2K.

One of these days I'll give XP Professional a try, having heard lots of good things about it. Probably when I finally finish my degree in another year (read: when I finally start earning some money to spend!)
