Yes they lied, printed on the box the game came in are a few features that arn't in the game... guess they forgot to change the box when they relesed the game before it was ready.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea of building a giant robotic parrot out of melted down coins was a bad idea, I would have one kick a$$ giant robotic parrot.

It just means you're taking too long to get to your objective. That she's behind you means nothing, as that just means she's waiting for you to lead. It's basically just a warning before you fail your mission for taking too long. IIRC, you'll get the same message if you turn on the jump drive and head in the opposite direction.

"Yes they lied, printed on the box the game came in are a few features that arn't in the game... guess they forgot to change the box when they relesed the game before it was ready."

The reality of producing consumer software is that it takes a lot more time to produce the "paper" media of the release than the electronic media (CD's). Printing manuals and packaging typically takes just a little short of a month between sending the hardcopy to the printers and getting it back, while once the software has been given the go ahead for release (gone gold) you can have your CD's ready to ship in about two days.

The problem this creates is that manuals and packaging are typically finished and in an unchangeable state during the last month of development on any title. Any changes made in the software at that point can nolonger be corrected in the printed material-- whether that's because features were removed, added, or never implimented. So the word "forgot" doesn't really fit here since it's likely they were aware of the discrepancy but unable to fix the discrepancy without both putting off release for a month in order to reprint the paper media and raising the price of the product to offset the loss on the discarded paper media.

However, they could have included a readme file on the disk outlining the discrepencies between the actual game and the printed media. I have seen these types of corrections before and it shouldn't have been that difficult to implement in this case, assuming the changes to the software did not happen just days from release.

Could someone explain what "lies" are on the box? Hyperbole and marketing, yes, but "lies"?

And as far as the PC Gamer review... I just read it... it doesn't say anything about changing power/shields/etc.
