I always play it safe here and buy the Microsoft Mouse, Keyboard and Joystick. Because I know Microsoft Windows will always give good suport for there own brand of products. I use the "IntelliMouse" here. I have setup the Sensitivity to maxumum, and it does give much better control for ships with slower turning rates in the game. Flying the Eagle with the sensitivity setup to maximum has made a big difference, and makes it feel like a light fighter now!
Unlike the person above who said it's slowed down his game speed, I have no problems here with game speed setting my Mouse sensitivity to maximum. But then again I did not go with the default Windows 2000 Pro driver installed for my Mouse and Keyboard. I downloaded the latest drivers for both my Mouse and Keyboard from Microsofts website designed for Windows 2000 pro here, and installed them. Maybe thats your problem in the above post. Try looking for a more up to date "Windows 2000 Pro" Driver for your Mouse on the manufacturers website.
Because I also found that even though "Windows 2000 Pro" here installed it's own Driver for my "Microsoft Internet Keyboard". None of the HotKeys worked. Until I went to there website, and downloaded a proper Windows 2000 Pro driver software package. Now everything is fine, and all my HotKeys are working correctly. Somtimes the default drivers installed by Windows do not make use of all your hardwares extra features! Windows 2000 pro is a funny operating system anyway at the best of times. And you usually do need to install proper drivers using that O/S!
