Nostory-mod..jumpgates!!!

i play the non-story-mod, my caracter is at level 10, but all jump gates in the liberty-system are disabled so i can´t leave this F***** system. can somebody help me??

I am also having the same problem with the jump gates, I installed the no story mod as there are no good permanant servers around yet. I have used 4 fairly good ones so far but they have all gone down for some reason hence the install of the no story mod. Can someone please reply and inform me on how to open the soddin jump gates especially as Juni is not there to give you the keys.

Maybe I am totally misunderstanding exactly what it is you guys want to do, but wouldn't the easiest way to play a non-story game with full jump-gate access be to start your own lan server with the FLServer.exe and then simply run the game and join it? No storyline, full jumpgate access, no worries about the server going down...

just a thought...

Some jumpgates are only open in MultiPlayer IIRC.

Wapcaplet the reason this mod was made was for people who dont have 2 computers but want to have the same game as multiplayer without having to do the storyline. As far as I can tell this mod isnt any good for the simple reason it only allows you to play in the New York system and doesnot give access to any other system.

You don't need 2 computers to do the Multiplayer thing. I only have one computer and I am doing it.

I just run FLServer.exe and let that run. Then I start the Freelancer.exe and click Multiplayer and search LAN. It finds MY server and I join it. Voila! I am in multiplayer by myself, and I don't have the SP missions to worry about, and every jumpgate is available.

I still don't understand why anyone else is having a problem with this, or why a mod is even necessary when you can just run your own server and join it from the same machine. Am I missing something?

WapCaplet I stand corrected, I assumed when you said set up your own server you meant on a different machine I didnt realise you could run the server on the same machine as the one you were playing in. I will delete the mod and start my own server. Thanks m8

but when you play so, there's noch way to save in like in the singleplayer game.

The server automatically saves all player information. You just exit the game when you are done playing.

I have run the FLServer.exe, started a game, played up to level 2, quit, shut down the server, started it back up several days later and joined again with the same character at the same level on the same base I was at when I exited the first time. It works.

yes, but when you die, you can´t load a older savegame. you start form the last planet or station and you lost the worth of your last cargo. that sucks

I had the same problem. You need to download the opengates mod. Then, you need to copy the different section of mission 1a out of that file and paste it over the same part in mission 1a in no story mod. You'll have to play the first mission to pittsburg, but after that its back to the no story and all the gates will be open. I'd give more info, but I'm not at the same computer with the game.
You should note that you CAN NOT do this by activating both mods with the "mod switching program" as they conflict with eachother.
