After level 38?

OK, so I'm level 17, and I can't even buy a "decent" ship untill I'm level 20, and I'm thinking, I like this, it's obviously more involved than it looks... I play the "final" mission, (prior to going "home" to Liberty) in a Dromedary, as I have most of the game, I've taken out "real" outcasts in this thing, from the hole near Malta, much earlier in the game and with inferior weapons....

Then I land on Liberty, Juni winks at me, I'm suddenly level 38 and I'm told to "get a job" is that it? Is that the entire one player game? Or is there more? I'm currently flying back to Malta, to buy a Sabre, (to make user of the class 10 weaponry I've got) I'll buy a Titan if I can find one, (don't tell me where...) but is that it? Is there anything more to shoot for other than being able to lay waste to all before you?

I certainly felt a lot better about taking out three titans in my dromedary than I will doing so in a Sabre, (not that I will now I'm friendly with the corsairs...) but once you have the tank is there anything worthwhile left to shoot? Anyone searched the green nebula that stretches from the Omicron system down to Rhienland?

Can you destroy docking rings and major battleships that are dockable? I've had a pop earlier in the game but I got bored of shooting the pissants they launched against me en-mass continually. I'd quite like to wipe out the bounty hunters too if at all possible. I went through around a hundred of them yesterday, (spent ages at Ames trying to bribe the hackers) but I haven't got a decent ship yet.

Yup, it says 38.

I wouldn't be able to buy the ship if it didn't.

But I don't see how telling people that Juni will wink at you in the "closing" cinematic is a spoiler...

I chose to make my money at level 11, I played from there through to level 17 with over 2Mn in the bank, makes life a lot easier, provided you can land to refuel...

Since then I've seemingly done nothing but spend money...

Trouble with levels in SP

I'm still level 17 afterwards and the money I need to get to level 18 changes everytime I make money, it even happened that the current money I had was over the money I needed to get next level, don't know how that should work

That's weird... I didn't realize that you could just skip twenty levels to level thirty-eight at the end of the game.

????? people keep telling me after you get the msgfrom juni you can still level up, but it that doesn't seem to work on the Australian release as your locked on your level until you finish the next mission. As a test i loaded up a save game where next level stats says mission and even after making the ahhmm diamond run(not telling buying and selling locations) to 1 mil i'm still level 14 and when i finished the mission i become level 15 and in need of alot of moeny to make before i can hit 16 and juni gives me a rang again. So how is that possible to be 38 after you finish the SP missions??????

After the singleplayer storyline is over, the amount of credits displayed below your total amount isnt the sum you need to level up.

Its the amount of additional credits you need to level up.

e.g.

If you have 1million credits total, and it says 80k, you need an additional 80k to level up.

and if you have earned enough money between SP missions, you'll level up very quickly after the last story mission

eg. I've been level 17 when I took the last missions and afterwards I was lvl32 because my net worth was above 1M.

I'm guessing that the reason you skipped to level 38 is that you were using a trainer that gives you infinite money (only skips levels after you complete the entire story).

Also, the amount it shows for the next level after you complete the story is how much MORE you need, instead of the total amount of money you need (sorta confusing that way). That's why it changes every time your worth changes.

It didn't have to be a trainer, since many times in the teen levels you are locked into your level by your mission status, you can make a ton of money, then when the levels go back to net worth you can zoom up quickly. I'd never heard of 17 to 38 but I can believe it.

The way it counts how much you need to level up after you finish is weird. Before, it shows you how much your total networth has to be before you level up. For me though, after finishing SP, it suddenly acted like a countdown meter, counting down as my networth increased. Odd...

Yep, I had tons of dosh too. Jumped straight to level 31 I think. Surprise! Hummppphhhh, now wheres the challenge. Oh, it would seem that levelling stops at 38 as well, not that it means anything anymore.....

LURK, Lurk, lurk.......

It is certainly possible. I don't remember anymore exactly how much I had or where I leveled to after I finished SP, but it was instant from 17 to something in the 30's. And once you've finished the storyline, the next level requirement is indeed a countdown. If you get your net worth up by that amount, you level.

did the same thing here jumped from 17ish to 38 at the end, did not use a trainer, was sorta let down all i had to look forward to was a chnaging faction and getting anew ship...

Personally, i was too interested in the story to try to load up on cash in between story missions. Just get enough to advance and/or get a new ship and gear.
