Question re: cargo & hardware

Hello to you all. I'm a new guy, and just found this fantastic site. Great job to the hosts/mods!

My question: If you recover a piece of hardware via tractor beam (or through the purchase of a new ship), is there any way to dismount your existing hardware (a thruster or shield for example) and mount the new piece? I've read the docs, scanned this board and consulted a psychic all to no avail.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Equipment can be mounted by docking at any base and going to the equipment dealer. There, you can click on the mount/dismount icon for each item to lock them in place. This is also a handy way for moving existing equipment around if you don't like the way your weapons are mounted on the ship by default. Each weapon will lock into the first available position.

Thank you sir. Now I feel rather stupid for selling an advanced shield and buying it back again so that I could mount it :-)
