Stop expecting Microsoft Patches!

I am sick of reading all these posts saying do you think Microsoft or Digical Anvil will release an Update Patch to improve the game, and add more features and other stuff. Come on guys did "MS or DA" do that for Starlancer. NO!

Do Microsoft usually release any Free Patches to improve there games for Free anyway. NO!

The only way your going to get a Free Update patches, is from the people in the Forum with the brains to do it. If your waiting for "MS or DA" to release one. Your a bigger fool than I thought!

Gary, about adding more stuff to the game...whether DA does it or not... not really concerned right now...and it definately wouldn't be through a patch.... that would be one heck of a patch...and might be setting the sights a bit to high... an expansion on the other hand could be something that would be in the cards. We'll honestly just have to wait and see if that one happens (and if you're wondering, yes I've seen expansion packs from MS)

As far as patching problems unless you have an inside source I don't think you can be sure if anyone will put out a patch or not. I can appreciate how you might feel about all of the talk about patches and adding things, but please just relax a little, it will be ok. This kind of a post unfotunately won't help anyone....it usually just starts a flame war....so let's try not to post things like this, k?

Well thanks for your positive responce. It makes a change compared to the childish remarks I normaly have to read. OK about the Microsoft Patches, Well I meant an Exspansion Pack really as you pointed out above. The only time I have ever seen MS release an Expansion Pack, it comes in a box in the shop and cost money. They are normally not there for Free! Typical of MS of course! But even these are only limited to there prized games like "FS 2002" and so on. People were begging for the Patches, and Exspansion Packs for Starlancer for 3 years. But they never came! I expect there to be no difference with this game, and if they do acually totally surprise me and bring one out. You can bet your bottom dollar it won't be Free!

I hold more hope of Sadam Hussian being in Heaven! Than either MS or DA releasing an Exspansion Pack for this game.

New features and expanded gameplay cost mony to produce. Why shouldn't Microsoft charge money for expansion packs?

Post Tue Mar 25, 2003 2:40 am

Why because certain other small Game companys do it for Free! Who you ask? Egosoft for one with there X Games! And they make nothing like the kind of Money Microsoft make from all there products. They are just god dam greedy if you ask me! Egosoft are already saying there will be NEW downloadable Scripts for there new game when it's released called: X2 The Threat!

Now thats what I do call suporting there games. And it isn't even in the shops yet!

Oh! and they will be totally "Free" to download from there website!

The same with UT2003. There are already two free Bonus Packs out, and they are great. Do you know why Digital Extremes and Epic did that? Because they know that good public relations are priceless. Companies that care about the fans of their games are more likely to sell more copies of their next games. It's as simple as that. Microsoft doesn't seem to plan for the future like that... well, it's their choice.

Here's a thought. Instead of getting sick of reading the posts, how 'bout ya just, oh I dunno maybe...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME READING THEM! How hard is that? Instead of posting an insult to everyone who hopes for an improvement and exercises their liberty to post a topic addressing such a thing, just don't bother reading 'em! GEEZ!
