Not sure, but if a patch comes out soon it might be able to fix it I'm thinkin' guess well just have to see...

A new vid card might not fix it. I have a 3 month old PC, with a MS vid card, the latest drivers (10 days old), and I STILL get text probs when over 1024 mode.

There are some instructions in the readme file. I think you need to reinstall the MS XML parser. Check the technical forum.

Yeah. Great game. It's not hard to find flaws but I'm still sitting here playing, guess that's what counts.

I agree, I'm on the last single player mission which I expect to finish tonight. I think I've got about 30 hours into the singleplayer game and I feel that it was money well spent. I'm anxious to finish the single player game and begin exploring some more of the game. The last few missions I kind of rushed through leaving much to be discovered.

My final impressions on the game is that it's extremely approachable for newcomers to the genre and quite enjoyable as a quick fix for a verteran guy like myself. It's a tad short in comparison to the other games before it but overall the production value is top notch and it's a great ride while it lasts.

It feels much like Privateer lite in many ways and it has left me with a thirst for a deeper game like X2 or maybe EVE Online. So that gives me something to look forward to while I poke around the FreeLancer Universe.

One thing I have to say, is I CANNOT wait till some more system mods are available. (I'd mod some myself..if my skilz were worth more than the p*ss in my potty) I've had my gripes about this game, but I love the fact that there is so much space to explore, and the comm chatter is somewhat dynamic. (last night I overheard a transport giving advice to a convoy on shipping luxury goods from somewhere in the Kusari systems to Manhattan...luv that stuff)

I have no doubt in my mind a Freelancer xpansion will be available sometime down the road. With all the loose ends, its a no brainer. I agree with you on that empty stomach feeling I have after playing this game. Still want more combat/exploration/trading. I just wish X-beyond the frontier had Freelancer's comabt system...coupled with X's trading system...that game would rock!
