Do i have to reach a specific level before i can buy better

Such as the titan or the eagle?

Im thinking of trading early in the game and than follow the storyline with a better ship...
Is this a good idea? or will it ruined the game? In the sense of better ships --> missing becomes easier...

Each ship appears to have a minimum level at which you can purchase them, so the Titan would be out of reach. You definitely need these stronger ships (and weapons) as you move away from Liberty.

It's true, ships, in single player at least, have level requirements.

And you need to continue with the story to advance every other level.

However, one other player reports that he had stashed away a million gillion credits, so when the story ended, he jumped up a LOT of levels.

Is there a list where I can see what level each ship requires?
Which level do I have to be to buy an eagle, or sabre?
