Ana Bui

There is this artwork of a chick called Ana Bui on the official site as well as on many Freelancer ads, along with a lot of other concept characters. Now, AFAIK none of them makes an appearance in the story.
So, what's the deal with them? In mp, you can only play Trent. So what are those characters all about? Are they the sad remains of what used to be DA's plan to allow for custom characters? Can they be unlocked in any way? Can you meet them anywhere in a far-off hidden system? Or did they really draw all of them up just to spice up their official pages?

I'd say they are just part of some fiction to set the mood. Nothing more.
