Done with game

Just got done with the game, will stop playing now, there is no point to play on just to find things and have the same missions over and over and get better weapons?. Game was too easy and made you get done way to fast. Very glad I did not give these people any money.

Thats very nice thxs for that

I marvel at the sheer stupidity of such posts. If you didn't like it, sail off into the sunset and keep the yap shut. What exactly are you trying to accomplish by trashing the game? You are quiting, so quit and don't bother the community who know HOW to enjoy a game (and not barrel thru the sp game mindlessly) and still play it?

I think it's a measure of self worth. Or lack thereof. I am guessing this guy will troll about now, and I call it trolling cause if he quit - then wtf is he doing on a FL forum? Let us see if my prognosticating is accurate.

PS - There IS more to this game than simply the SP. There's lots to explore, hidden stuff and plenty of carrots and easter eggs. There is ALSO the kick out of playing in the evironment. Oh, did I mention multiplayer???

I am guessing this fella is not the explorer type. Perhaps he got the strat guide, followed the dots in sp and that is why he is done. Newsflash: You don't have to do missions one after the other!! You can wander about and come back.

Sigh...I just have no patience for stupidity. End of my own gripe, lol

I liked the game, have waited for it for 4 years. It was just too easy and made you keep playing when you wanted to do other things. The makers of the game should have played Iwar2. I have made computer games for a main stream company and know what I am talking about. Now when the single player game is done there is really no other point to keep playing. Nothing can defeat my ship now. And you don't pay 50$ to just fly around or kill someone or blow up a ship and bring them back or just sit in your ship and run cargo. The single player game was too short. and I think most people agree. It took 2 day's to get done and all multi-player games stink. They are just shooters. If you love the game just keep your mouth shut and play it. Its like playing tic-tac-toe.

Oh and by the way if you have played the game at all you would know that you can't keep playing other missions and not do the game missions after a short time it will not let you take other missions you HAVE to do the game missions. Or did you not play the game.

Raven, I think you might have missed the point of this forum. Generally it's for people who actually ENJOY the game and like playing it. If everyone felt the way you do, this forum probably wouldn't exist.

So you don't like it. Fine. Now let the rest of us who DO like it carry on and enjoy it. You have no reason to remain on this forum since, as you said, you are done with this game. Fairwell.

And, it's fairly pointless to complain to US about what you don't like about the game. Are we supposed to care what you think? Go complain to Microsoft or DA if you are that concerned. The rest of us, as I have said, like the game. You won't convert us. So save your breath and go tell someone who cares.

I never said I did not like the game. Are all game forums suppose to be are for the people that want to kiss ass?. They are for all people that have played the game or for people that are thinking about getting the game. NOT just for the people that can only see one side.

Raven1701, what insight! My god man, have you considered a future as a game reviewer! You stress the good and bad points in the game so completly in your oh so tiny post.

I do hope you grace us with your wisdom and insight to more games. I wait on the edge of my chair for future posts from you.

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 10:56 pm

Oh I will. And by the way I did playtest games for my job for 5 years so I do know what I am saying.

Raven, it would also appear from your post that you pirated this game. Perhaps I could give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were given a copy as a present or something, but you made a point of mentioning that you are glad you did not give them any money.

So unless you got a copy legitimately, I don't think you have a right to criticize the game at all. However, I will concede that forums are not JUST for people who love the game. True. Seriously, you are right about that.

But the point I was trying to make is that it is pointless to just announce that you are done with the game and THEN criticize it. There are a number of posts on this forum that discuss ways the game could be made better. It's called constructive criticism. But when you simply announce that you are done and point out the flaws, you are just making noise.

Those of us who love the game still find flaws. Every game has flaws. But we discuss them somewhat intelligently so as to enhance the experience and possibly provide input for future patches, mods, etc.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. I'll sum up.

Raven, a good game should be able to stand up to scrutiny and a degree of criticism. And I agree that forums are the place for discussion, ANY discussion about the game.

However, announcing that you are done with the game, and that you never actually paid for it in the first place, takes significant weight from your particular criticism. And as I have said, if you are truly done with this game, I guess you will be leaving.

Those are my thoughts, not yours. I'm WapCaplet.

Blah Blah Blah. Your supposed credentials DON'T make you a game authority. I rather guess people here have been playing for years all types of games. Some gamers who never worked in the industry are MORE qualified to give opinions for we are the consumers who buy your product and frankly that's the measure of success.

Freelancer is one of hundreds of games out there. If you find it lacking, go play something else and spare your fingers the keystrokes to comment further. You will only be met with flames that will measure the level of your intelligence, in other words, they will be low.

As to SP - you CAN do as much as you want between missions. I've played nearly 40 hours and I'm only on mission 7!!! I've bopped about all over the place, played with my faction, harrassed sheffield base to play with the Bounty Hunters and did the same with Xenos at Ouray base. I've done tons of trade routes and early on dozens of random missions. I am having a blast just exploring even.

So don't tell me that you can't spend as MUCH time as you like between the missions for the SP quests. Ask anyone here and you will see that you are given ample time to do whatever you like for as long as you like after the first few missions. It seems we see here again the limits of your ingenuity and perception. You obviously lack the insight to not only have realized this, but also the aptitude to understand it now.

I also see that I was right, you quit and now you troll. You have reposted numerous times and likely will continue cause you seem to want to validate your poor experience and capabilities by trashing this game. The game is what you make it, and your effort was poor. Go troll elsewhere, for I will enjoy taunting you if you don't.

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 11:13 pm

Oh also hase anyone here designed and sold computer games? what? NO, I did not think so. Keep your mouths shut then.

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 11:17 pm

I beleive that there are several million people who would disagree with your opinion that all multiplayer games stink.
And if you dislike this game so much, why are you wasting your valuable time making post about it?
