Gosh darnit, people like me

Is there a way to get any of these groups to like me? I can't even travel between systems without getting seriously hammered by Junkers, Rouges, Xenos, and everyoneone else. Since it's impossible for me to dock with a trade lane without getting railed, I'm starting to wonder how fun this game is going to become. I can't get a better ship unless I travel to a further system...I can't travel to a further system because my current ship isn't good enough??

I had the same problem, especially when the story leads me to Leeds (no pun intended... well maybe it was ) with all those freakin' corsairs. All you can do, without seriously pissing other factions off, is to earn an awful lot of money and bribe someone with it. Do some base hopping in some more sinister areas, visit the bars and you will eventually find someone. Try Until then: run like hell! Don't stay to fight!

Oh, and for the future: stay neutral with at least one of the criminal factions in order to get your foot in the door. And if you have to mess with every single criminal faction, leave the Zoners (Freeport bases) alone. They might by your only way back on track with criminals.

Yeh! If you get on the wrong side of the Bounty Hunters. You are knackered when you go into "Omicrom Theta". All those groups of "Hammerheads" coming at you all the time.

Sometimes its better to travel via the jumpholes. If you systematically explore each system you come to, you will probably find a jumphole to the system you want to get to.

If you have a good standing with the local police, use the main trade jumpholes, if you don't, use the hidden ones. If you can't make it through either, try upgrading your ship and being a bit more aggressive. I have found that its sometimes easier to blast away the 3 or 4 opponents at a jumphole rather than try to get through by running.

Also, if you afterburn your way to a hidden jumphole and hit the dock key within 300 meters, you instantly warp away, instead of having to line up, etc.

If you are morally flexible, start attacking commercial convoys, or even military patrols. Do it enough and it will "neutralize" your rep.

If you don't want to actually "kill" the "good guys", then you can blow up storage depot containers near bases, and on trains.

Corsairs and Red Hessians are the worst to piss off. Running into a pack of Sabre's or Titan's while taking radiation damage will really make you sweat if you're in anything less than equal equiptment.

I don't really run this place but I have an understanding with the people who do.

At the moment i'm fine with almost any criminal faction (except the Bundschuhs and Gaians). Being able to freely move around in the outer rim territories definately has it's advantages. The letdown is that i'm Kusari's Most Wanted. I shouldn't have attacked that Samura base, i suppose.

On the point of waiting to dock with tradelanes, if you can see the tradelane that you want to enter (it will have green lights flashing, green = go / red = stop) if you wait until you are just before you go through the ring of the one you're entering and then quickly hit F3 (docking key) that should speed the docking process up a bit...
