Cannot leave Liberty...

Okay, I went through the single-player campaign, and then i wanted to create a multiplayer character (the whole purpose of me getting this game was to play it with my friends). Then I ran into a problem where I couldn't leave the four systems of Liberty. So i was told I had to start up a singleplayer campaign and get decently far. So i did that, still couldn't leave. Even finished the SP story, and still can't leave the dumb liberty system. Not even when I load my SP char into the MP folder and lad him. It shows a nice map saying he's been everywhere, but anytime I try to leave liberty, it says "Access Denied." This is getting really old, and annoying. Is this a bug, and can anyone help out?

Are you playing the demo? The demo is limited to the Liberty region only.

Have you tried any of the jump holes?

demo has no mp

i dunno... try maybe using a diff server, or hosting ur own, or maybe if u already ARE, hae one of ur friends host... oh yeah, and maybe if u have someone else try to go thru the gate, and u formation w/ them, sometimes the game bends the rules for formation (i.e. when u are far away u will catch up to the person even if u are both cruising - the game allows you to move faster)

Sounds like you are trying to use the Magellan Jump Gate. Use the one to California instead.

Eh, well the problem is, I've already finished the full single-player game. I even loaded the finished character into the multiplayer, and so he has the last ship i had, all the equipment and whatnot, but even he cannot go to any different zones. Also, this was on my own server, so its a wierd problem. Just annoying, really.

well considering the fact that you have tried everything (don't know if u have but for the sake of the argument you did), the only thing left to do without completly obliterating your computer is to email. or call the tech support people or go to the support web and search the FAQ's. other than that i don't know whatto tell you. hope this helps

Hmph. The plot thickens: My friend and I set up a lan, and now his game doesn't let him leave when he hosts a lan game. Now, neither of us have the demo, since we've both beaten the SP campaign... However, I can leave liberty whenever i want, but he cannot. When I host, he can leave but I cannot...this is really annoying. Other than completely reinstalling again, I don't know what else to do, i don't suppose anyone else does?

Hmmm very interesting, definately a bug there. Try posting in the Multiplayer forum, someone may have picked up on this problem already.

I don't really run this place but I have an understanding with the people who do.

How have you been able to finish the story without leaving the liberty system?
