I understand the admin weapons are on Bobways, they will not be part of the mod, it is just Bobway and the gang having a bit of fun at our player's expenses.

Sorry about the long silence in this forum. Rest assured, we are working VERY hard. Numerous ships have been added to our fairly large collection. Many new weapons have been added. New factions, both lawful and unlawful have been added, including a arms manufacturing faction. Minor details are being fixed, infocards for ships are now complete, I will be removing typos etc from them later. Bases are now equipped with new weapons, and epsilon factions are seen almost everywhere. We still have errors to remove from the mod, but keep an eye out for it .

Well folks, the mod is almost done and should be released in a day or so.. along with a health warning.. hehe

Then get ready for a wild ride.... no more sitting around in New York waiting for something to happen... it is unlikely you will get time.

For some reason beyond my comprehension, it would seem that all the servers that are running the latest mod of Epsilon are down. What's going on?

yes mr p,

bobway has removed our mod from their list of servers. as tng came along, our crowd left. i suppose that money and media attracts the crowds. we arent sure what is going to happen with the mod...there is no point in continuing without the support from the community that we have lost recently.

Guys,

If you weren't in it for the money to begin with, which I know you were not, then what's the problem? Just do what you are doing. Make the improvements you want to make. The point behind all of this is that there are varieties of choice. Not everyone looks for MP servers. Have you watched your download count to see if it is flat?

I thought this was for the fun of it. OK, maybe some ego too but what the hey! The more mods there are the more alive FL remains and.... who knows what else.

Indy, thanks for the words and we understand where youre coming from. We are trying our hardest to keep this mod going and keep people interested. It's very hard to do though, and if you visit Bobway's website ( Here ) and look in the epsilon forums you'll see why this topic has arisen in our forum here.

As much as I can, i want to keep this MOD alive. Epsilon was something different, i mentioned it in the last post, all (bar the mars flyer) of the Epsilon ships are originals, and not taken striaght from movies. (they may be inspired by movies however...)

I don't think that everyone of the Epsilon players play the MOD online, I dont, (except for Harrier's test server) and that suits me fine. I was reading on the Bobways forum that there were no clans on the Epsilon servers. Well, Who would like it if I started a clan? or clans (for those criminally inclined...)?

But I sincerley hope that the Epsilon members don't give up on this project. and even if they do quit, I'm gonna make sure they dont .

Thanks for the support, lets just say that the depression index has gone the other way and a positive attitude (never absent for long) has returned...

We have done some recruiting and I am pleased to announce we have 2 new members.. Buck Danny has joined us with his extraordinary knowledge of how freelancer works. and is busily organising the whole mod into a cohesive structure, plus doing system work and finding and fixing all sorts of stuff. JustSomeGuy has joined us and is busily fleshing out the systems and bringing life to the new systems.

Plus Acid has agreed to help with bug hunting and has already shown his abilities, by identifying some errors that we had been unable to see.

Well to bring you all up to date... Phew... This will take some doing...

We have been working literally non stop on this since any of us last posted.. I could not detail the number of changes that have been made..

here's a sample:

All references to the expiring pilots have been removed.
Most if not all of the archetype errors have been found and fixed, there are still some warnings but we are gradually finding and updating them and as we do there are less errors found..
Faulty thrusters, Power supplies and other odd items have either been fixed or updated, incorrect gate loadouts have been fixed.
The Nansei problem has been fixed, the Hokkaido gate problem has been fixed
Some of the original Freelancer ships have had the file references changed. The way the loadouts were written in goods.ini were wrong i.e. several of the freelancer ships have HpHeadlight when it should be HpHeadLight (Capital 'L') this is in the .cmp. - oh and btw there are quite a few of these.
There was a problem with the Mantis found and fixed (.cmp again)

The Kandor crash was found and fixed, Battleship Batlor also had a large asteroid removed from the docking bay,
Nehida has now got planetary bases.. about 12 new ship buy places, Amdor has had Siren updated and a couple of new things added.. (a new surprise)

we are working on linking some of the new systems (though I think that will take a little time yet)

2 new ships have been added a fighter and a super freighter - (not size wize - capability) and I am working on 2 more..

A lot more stuff I cannot remember... new weapons etc., as well, mainly low level including a New "mini" Chaingun - Effects courtesy of Glock - tho I dunno if he thought they would be used that way - lol

Epsilon1.dll was faulty its been replaced and the ids are being transferred

I cant think of much more now but there is a lot of work being done.. I often put in 16 hour days on this but there is still an amount to do..we are all working hard.. We will want some beta testers soon, so volunteers are requested.. there will be lots of updates, however I have a secure ftp site (in fact we have 2 ftp sites) so fairly frequent downloads of approx 30 megs will be the norm.. I also have a private locked server for online games tho it will not be 24/7

sounds kewl, just one question tho... is there going to be like armur upgrades and is the raven claw from firebase going to be in it?

So, when we should expect the next release of Epsilon? Can you tell, approximately?
And are you going to fix that news thing, with the first letter of news not displaying?

re the ravenclaw.. probably not, Firebase gave me about 4 models that have never been used or seen .. well one has been seen but not used, the others are not complete and need to be completed and textured or finish textured .. tho they are typically Firebase, excellent models and we are pleased to have them..

The armor upgrades are gone.. We have either upgraded performance, weapons, modified some statistics, or made better buyable shields available to compensate
