Freelancer 3DB Exporter v1.0.0.1 for Milkshape3d made by Colin Sanby

This new plugin is designed to help 3D modelers, and mod makers, to create new single object type models like: icons, torpedoes, missiles, crates, signs, etc. People have asked for this and here it is! The package comes with a torpedo example, three icon examples, and a brief how-to. Questions? Comments?

One question: Can you make a SUR exporter? It should work with a sphere but handle a bit more complex objects. Plzzz!

Hi all,

for the uninitiated, ie: me, is there a tutorial to explain how to import a .tga file into milkshape for creating these icons? I've never done this before and a lot of assumptions are being made here. For someone who hasn't done this before it looks daunting lol, any help appreciated

Btw i have the icon ready to go in Paintshop, need a clue as to what size to save it to before importing, and a clue as to what to do next....

I don't suppose anyone here would care to enlighten us on exactly HOW they got it to work? I'm making a Ship Icon, and I can get the 3db to export, even look at it in HardCMP. but for some reason, the game CTD's every time I go to buy the ship. I looked at it in UTF editor, and the main difference I saw from a stock Icon was that in my exported one, there's no VMeshWire node. Minor diferences include: the Type node under the Material is at the bottom of the list of values, and not the top, and the VMeshLibrary node doesn't include the path. I doubt that last one would cause any problems. but the first two might be the culprit. Any suggestions?
