Favourite: longsword bomber.
Favourite loadout: x4 nomad torpedos x4 hellfury torpedo launchers, takes out the pirate fleets lurking in the omicron sectors in one salvo, and messes up battleships quite badly as well if i remember correctly from playing last, she is rather handy at dogfighting as well
Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.

Did you know the Hawkeye MKII can just about fit the Balistner capship powerplant? Stick in a bunch of Naginata guns and three class 10 shields and you're practically unstoppable.
The Hydra Corvette is kinda nice too, but the clunky handling always makes you overshoot your destination in the SP campaign scenes. It was impossible to finish the Hovis race in it; I had to buy the Silpstream that Battleship Hood sold. Nice ship btw, twitchy handling, almost like a LF.
The NPCs seem to be flying a wider variety of ships too, which is good. The only bad thing is that there just aren't enough types of NPCs to actually fly all the available ships, lol. It'd be awesome if NPCs flying in systems that they aren't native to used random ships. I mean, Corsairs would be flying Titans and stuff around their home base (Crete?), but elsewhere e.g. in Rhineland they could be flying ANY kind of ship. ANY. Imagine a patrol of 6 Corsairs, each in a totally different ship.
Okay, that was insane But it'd be great to have even more ships out there, and not just collecting dust and cobwebs on shipdealers' display pads.

Let's see, favorites... hmm
Fighter-
My favorite class of ships, skill and speed over firepower.
Prize here has to go to the Raven's Claw, it's awesome maneuverability and impressive firepower had it tied with the thunderbolt in my book, but it's sleek black look nudged it ahead.
Capitol-
The leviathan. If you are gonna sacrifice manuverability and style for firepower and armor, you might as well go all the way. This thing isn't a ship, it's a mobile battle fortress. With DU armor and an optimized weapon loadout, NOTHING can stop you, just getting there is a bit of a challenge, lol.
Freighter-
I like the Whitestar Cruiser. This thing is nice, a cut above the Naginata in raw stats, and it only handles with a fraction less agility (In FP view, external view is very awkward to fly because the y axis seems to be inverted, cool on a joystick, not on a mouse) In FP view, it pilots like a sluggish fighter, but can still slide through asteroid fields at top speed. Has enough cargo space to make several million per run if you make the right runs, and can take down an AI fleet if you arm it to the teeth and fly it like a fighter (strafing runs, don't sit still like most cap ships).
Great! I'm a million miles from nowhere with a gung-ho iguana!
