Just bought the Quark Cannon. Now this gun according to the infocard does several HUNDRED points of damage, but much of that hull damage does not seem to register when enemy ships are hit. It still takes forever to kill them. And can someone pls. explain what's area damage? Thnx.

I do agree about those new guns, sometimes, u shoot things, and they don go BOOM when u expect them to.

Remember when I said that the Soulstealer was invisible? Well several other things are too... like the centauri primus battlecruiser! Boy would that be cool to see! This is a bit much to ask, but how do I fix it? I have an Intel 815 GFX card, default game settings (except for brightness) and over the requirement for ram. Running winXP. Thanx in advance

Did you by any chance make the space race with hovis a bit harder? Saaay... give him a better engine or somthin? Change the course a bit to make the turns tighter? Because I never had this much trouble before. If not than I sound silly! Perhaps if I had a better engine, but would that affect cruise speed?

I was engaging some A-Wings. Now the enemy was approx 700m straight in front of me when I opened up on him, all four guns blazing. The A-Wing flew right by me, its shields were gone, but its hull were undamaged. How could the A-Wing be undamaged?? Please fix this in a future release. While I did finally win the missions, A-Wings that were exceptionally hard to hit even when my guns had actually hit the hull, is not exactly my idea of fun.

There is the bug in FL. When u do continous blasting at a ship with its shield on. You have to give it a break when its shield goes off, if not, sometimes, NPC ships can be indestructable.

U should try attacking burst fire mode. Firing burst by burst. However, the "Carebear Stare" move would be useful too.

In races, the turnings are tight, because the Cruise Speed in Normal difficulty mode with the Rabalance Mod has been increased. You just need to get used to it. I know I did.

Problem found. Fighting Unioners with their Headhunters, X-Wings, and a Toscan ... the Toscan causes the crash-2-desktop bug.

sry guys i was away for a while.
the problems with these custom craft is that their surface defintions file, the .sur files were not created specifically for them but imported from existing original FL ships. and the auto-lock feature from FL only makes it worse. if it lock to an area of the ship that is not "solid", u'll miss all the time. Soluion is to use missiles or guns with area damage(btw area damage means these guns have explosive projectiles just like missiles). the quark cannon has 400 hull damage and 400 explosive area damage. the damage is real, since the game extracts the damage info directly from the weapons definition file(weapons_equip.ini) and not from some infocard.

Thanx MD for replying. Since the .sur files are the cause for the "phantom" hits, then can the definition files be edited to compensate? I really appreicate the addition of custom ships, it adds variety if nothing else. Another thing, about the patch for the mod, when is it coming out?

mojo: the patch is ready and i alredy sent a 3.11 version to file planet. it will appear in a few days. I'll send it to LR here as soon as possible. about the sur files I can't modify those but Redeye mailed to me a week or two ago and said he will be able to do it soon. so there's still hope.

OK... I know i've praised you for this mod before, but as I go through the campaign I realize more and more the beauty of how this is set up. I just slaved and slaved to buy the Sabre at the blood dragon base and killed and killed to get the ku navy to drop those special guns of thiers (the symbol in equ manager is a IV and the name is quite long) rather than buy inferior versions from the BD's at 150k a pop. I struggled with dodging enemies and that got me using torps and later catapult misiles... in short, I played for hours to earn enough to buy the best stuff I've discovered in the whole game and my current ship could evaporate a "super-sabre()" from the origional game... but I know that my stuff is nowhere close to the best and the enemies I have yet to face will more than drop my shields before they are vanquished and the weapons I have yet to find will put these superguns to shame. As I have several times already, im shure i'll have to fly mission after mission to afford one of the astounding number of new ships or a new armerment/shield etc. to replace my for the moment superior ship. You folks who made this mod have really made this game fun for me again!

I really cannot understand why some people use fileplanet as their main downloads. Okay I went to fileplanet to download your updated 3.11 mod and the wait time was like 2-5 hours. Am not going to wait that long in line for one file, nor am going to play a monthly charge for no-wait downloading. Why cannot you and other modders use some other downloading service other than fileplanet?

ps. I really would like to get your updated mod, 3.01 keeps crashing to desktop.
