when flying a BS in Liberty space it looks far more impressive than it does in Nexus cos nexus is so spread out. moving Traders Paradise a little closer to end of the TL to it would help.
if uve seen Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, the "Mutara Nebula" in which Kirk and Khan have the final epic starship battle is exactly what I envision the Labyrinth Nebula as: AS HAZARDOUS as possible without any asteroids in it. Tiny scattered spots of high radiation that you cant remember and avoid, large spots of low radiation, extremely little sensor function ANYWHERE inside (except small dissipated pockets in the nebula), lightning, lots of purple, orange, black, and blue swirly mists, varying/no visibility, etc. Basically, design it to make players get lost for those wonderful games of hide-and-seek-and-destroy that many players have fun with. Use exploding gas nearest the hypergate area to discourage people from entering the nebula through there ("sunlight makes the nebula gas go boom!"
A few landmarks in the nebula, maybe an untargettable planet
that is colored similar to the nebula and is in a low visibility region --- "Whats tha---AHHHH!" BOOM!
Regarding the nexus feature instabilities --- one problem might be the fact a lot of missions reference a "Sector 0F" which obviously doesnt exist anywhere...but it usually brings one to a sector far to the right of the hypergates (exactly where my proposed Labyrinth is...heh heh heh) -- also noted that some missions near Hunters Guild or other bases will place the Destroy Station mission objective objects right on top of the base you're launching from. Not good...
Hopefully, the concept of this layout will allow for more missions away from bases (read: missions in the "labyrinth" or whatever it might be called...)
