There is a major bug in the CMP resizing routine... Following reports from Crabtree & Harrier I've tested some files and seen some pretty hideous results
Will get this fixed soon as possible.

Another bug come to light... I forgot to make the sur component renaming optional so use on original ships will break the destructable sections.

*edit knew i should of put 0.1 alpha as the version number

Hey I cant start the program....when I launch this it says the program failed to start because BORLNDMM.DLL was not found

Any help would be appreciated

Look for the dlls for FLModelTool that Harrier uploaded (i was dumb and forgot to check dependencies )

New problem - ships with resized .sur files don't dock right with trade lanes or gates (fine with rings & holes though). This may be down to component renaming...

Anton,

Dunno if this will help, but one of our team members commented that the sur resizer causes freelancer to place very large brackets around npc and ai ships as if the .sur file is much larger, i.e. capship size for a small fighter. this may have something to do with the docking problems. After playing around with it I could not get any better results, I simply dont know enough... Though the .cmp component to add the radius values works very well so long as you dont want to scale the ship up by a large margin, it works very well for scaling ships down.

Dev also bought out a .sur resizer, and released the source code with it, however it is a lot more complicated to use than yours so I havent persisted with it .. too many other things to do

where did harrier upload them? I would dl them If I knew where they are

@Foxer - use the search box in top left of main TLR page... just search for FLModelTool and it will list the dll download too.

@Harrier - I need to test with Dev's utility too (v little time last few days though) to see if his causes the same problem. The large targeting reticule is interesting, thanks. It maybe the extra clue needed to fix

Update :

Think the sur files errors (docking and huge targetting reticule) are now nailed. Crabtree and his friends are helping me test this.

The errors with cmp file sizing (specially with original ships) are under investigation with a possible solution being implemented.

Many thanks to Harrier and Crabbtree et al for invaluable assistance in making this tool work right

Are you talking about the "resize mk2" sur resizer? I am really having trouble with it, for it seems like it would add components like wings ands guns to "root", although i did not put in an additional parameter after z_offset as described in the readme. This really is annoying, for I cannot finish my mod I'm working on if the ship can't properly dock...#
EDIT: I got this FlModel tool (seems to include several programs for those tasks), but it also lacks a DLL. ANd the friggin' link to get the dll files simply does not work. >

@Mephistopheles - Um... nope i'm talkin about FLModelTool... Like the thread is called... I'll mail you the latest beta : cmp resizing on stock ships can be iffy and need to add some to the sur type changing, and 2 minor bugs in sur sizing depending whether any loaded cmp is relevant to the sur being worked on. Otherwise stable. I have two requests to add for beta 5 past these issues then will be reposted to TLR. See what you make of beta 4 though
